GGA Software Services supplements the core capabilities of its
management and technical team in Cambridge, Massachusetts, by
undertaking specific tasks at the company's development facility in
St. Petersburg, Russia. The St. Petersburg facility employs 125
programmers and mathematicians for software, database, and algorithm
development. Each of these individuals has at least masters-level
training in computer science, mathematics, or physics, and more than
30 percent of the team hold Ph.D. degrees in those fields. In
addition, GGA has established a 175-person team at the St.
Petersburg facility to compile complex technical and scientific
databases and to undertake large-scale digital archiving projects.
Each member of the content development team has at least a masters
degree, and more than 50 percent of the team members have at least a
Ph.D. degree. The team includes scientists, doctors, and other
specialists who review technical and scientific literature and
select appropriate information for incorporation into databases in
the areas of cheminformatics, bioinformatics, and material sciences.
In addition, the team includes experienced data specialists for
extracting and formatting information for inclusion in databases and
for executing large-scale digital archiving projects.
The St. Petersburg development facility gives our clients access to
a stable resource of top-notch talent and expertise that would be difficult
and far more costly to maintain in the United States. This resource
is particularly important for technology development projects, which
require staff with high-level scientific, mathematical, and technical
backgrounds.
By leveraging our St. Petersburg workforce, we can offer our customers
a 24-hour "virtual workday," as project work can continue
in Russia after the business day ends in the United States. In this
way, we can respond rapidly to customer requests, sometimes even delivering
results by the next business morning.
